The Department of Health (DOH) said Friday that the third round of the “Bayanihan, Bakunahan,” a huge government Covid-19 immunization program, will take place on February 10 and 11.

According to Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje, the goal of the vaccination effort is to enhance immunization coverage in places where it is low, particularly among senior residents.

“It should be nationwide,” she said in a Laging Handa briefing, “but we’ll prioritize the places that need an extra boost to raise vaccine coverage.”

“We’re doing it all throughout the country on February 10th and 11th to urge individuals who haven’t yet received their first dose or boosters. It’s critical that we increase our immunization rates for the A2 and A3 priority groups “she continued.

Only 60 to 70 percent of senior citizens have been vaccinated against Covid-19 since the vaccine was introduced last year, according to Cabotaje.

Last year’s three-day mass vaccination push, which took place from November 29 to December 3, was hailed as a success, with around 9.9 million individuals receiving vaccinations.

Despite the problems provided by Typhoon Odette, more than 7.4 million doses were administered during the second cycle, which took place from December 15 to 17.

Across the country, 59,389,080 people have received their first dosage of vaccines, with more than 60 million more awaiting their second dose. As of February 2, a total of 7,704,701 people had received their booster doses.
