In an operation in Syria, US military forces killed a Daesh/ISIS leader, according to Biden.
According to the US president, the so-called leader of the Daesh/ISIS terrorist group was killed in an operation by US armed personnel on Wednesday night.
Joe Biden announced the counterterrorism operation in northwest Syria in a written statement, stating that it is being carried out “to defend the American people and our Allies, and to make the world a better place.”
Biden went on to say that the US Armed Personnel had “taken off the battlefield Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi — the commander of ISIS,” and that all US forces had returned safely from the mission.
“Later this morning, I will offer words to the American people,” he added.
After the US assassination of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi earlier that year, Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi was declared the new head of Daesh/ISIS.
