President Rodrigo Duterte’s offer to adopt Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso as his party’s fourth Senate candidate is proof of the latter’s many accomplishments, Malacaang said on Tuesday.

After Domagoso said he believed Duterte was a qualified contender for the position and that he is willing to adopt him as the fourth senate candidate of his Aksyon Demokratiko Party, Acting Presidential Spokesperson and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said this.

Nograles, on the other hand, would not say whether Duterte would accept Domagoso’s offer.

It remains to be seen whether a party will eventually adopt Duterte or form an alliance with him, according to Nograles.

Duterte declared his senatorial candidacy under the Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS), an ally of the ruling Partido ng Demokratikong Pilipino-Laban (PDDP-Laban) (PDP-Laban).
