The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) announced on Thursday that the PHP125 billion Quezon Techno-Industrial Special Economic Zone (QTISEZ) project, which will be the country’s largest economic zone, has been cleared for registration.

Achievement Realty Corp. (ARC) will construct the 1,836-hectare QTISEZ in Mauban, Quezon province, in the Barangays Rosario and San Jose.

The ARC is allocating PHP75 billion for ecozone development and PHP25 billion each for its own international harbor and airport, according to PEZA director-general Charito Plaza.

Plaza remarked, “It will be the first international airport and seaport strategically placed in the Eastern half of Luzon.”

She stated that the QTISEZ will host 2,000 factories and provide 200,000 jobs.

“This massive investment that ARC has entrusted to PEZA will be a historic initiative since this new economic zone will emerge as the Philippines’ future largest economic zone,” the PEZA chief stated.

Meanwhile, ARC chairman Philip Cea stated that the business is already in talks with global and local investors who might become partners in the development of the country’s largest ecozone.

“Around 200 hectares will be dedicated to mixed-use for the creation of government offices, residential, commercial, and other sectors where our people may ‘live, work, and play’ in order to make QTISEZ a township,” Cea stated.

President Rodrigo Duterte approved the creation and designation of certain parcels of land in the communities of Rosario and San Jose as a special economic zone on January 17 with Proclamation No. 1277.
