The Comelec has begun delivering polling supplies to local hubs.
On Thursday, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) declared that the deployment of equipment, peripherals, forms, and supplies for the May 9 elections had begun.
The poll authority said in a statement that election supplies such as batteries for vote-counting machines (VCMs) and ballot boxes are being shipped from its warehouse in Sta. Rosa, Laguna to local hubs around the country.
The external batteries are planned to arrive by March 31, and the ballot boxes are expected to arrive on April 10 at the local centers.
Non-accountable forms and materials will also begin distribution on February 16 from the Comelec warehouse in Quezon Local to provincial and city treasurers in priority areas.
The VCMs, consolidation and canvassing system (CCS) machines and transmission equipment will be sent from April 2 to 19.
From April 20 to May 5, official ballots and indelible ink will be distributed to city and municipal treasurers by the National Printing Office in Quezon City.
All political parties, political candidates, party-list groups, and accredited citizens’ arms of the commission have received notices through the modes required by law, according to the poll authority.
