BUTUAN CITY, PHILIPPINES – The Department of Health-Caraga (DOH-13) has announced that active coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in the region have decreased even more.

Only 12 Covid-19 infections were recorded on February 20, according to the agency’s social media post on Monday, bringing the total number of current cases in the area to 364.

There were three new infections in Butuan City, four in Agusan del Sur, two in Surigao del Sur, and one case each in Bislig and Surigao and in the province of Agusan del Norte.

With the latest cases, the overall number of infections in the region has risen to 58,487 as of Monday.

“On Sunday, there were a total of 110 recoveries.” The overall number of recoveries in the region has already reached 56,090, according to the DOH-13.

On Sunday, no new deaths were reported, bringing the total number of Covid-19-related deaths in the region to 2,033.

According to the DOH-13, a total of 1,363,781 people in the region were fully vaccinated as of Feb. 20, accounting for 60.66 percent of the target population.

During that time, a total of 2,861,701 Covid-19 vaccines were distributed in the region, with 112,063 people receiving their booster shots.

As of Sunday, 1,720 children aged 5 to 11 in the region have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccination, according to the agency.
