The Zambo Peninsula has a Covid-19 recovery rate of above 94 percent.

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines β€” Since the commencement of the pandemic in March 2020, the Department of Health-Zamboanga Peninsula (DOH-9) recorded 56,256 Covid-19 recoveries, representing a 94.49 percent recovery rate.

Dr. Jemuel Cristobal, medical officer for DOH-9, stated the region has seen 59,533 Covid-19 infections so far, with 840 active cases and 2,437 deaths.

According to Cristobal, 68.2 percent of active cases are asymptomatic, 26.1 percent have mild symptoms, 4.4 percent have moderate symptoms, 1.2 percent have severe symptoms, and 0.1 percent have critical symptoms.

According to the data, Zamboanga City has the highest number of recovered cases (26,349) while also having the highest number of Covid-19 infections (27,928). With 1,084 deaths, the city also has the greatest mortality rate and 495 active cases.

Zamboanga Sibugay province, on the other hand, has a total of 4,787 Covid-19 instances, with 4,470 recoveries, 95 current cases, and 222 deaths, whereas Isabela City has 1,594 confirmed cases, just 10 active cases, and 61 deaths.

“We must maintain our vigilance because these figures are quite vulnerable.” It can spike at any time, according to Cristobal.

“Our top aim is to vaccinate as many people as possible in order to achieve mass population immunity as quickly as possible,” he continued.

Bank operations have returned to normal.

Despite the Alert Level 3 limitations, the banking industry in Zamboanga City has resumed normal activities.

According to Inocente Locson, head of the Zamboanga Bankers and Financiers Association (ZBFA), local banks have begun operating until 3 p.m., with some extending until 4:30 p.m.

According to Locson, the city has a total of 78 bank branches and financing institutions.

“The amount of money in circulation in the city is enormous,” he explained.

He believes that once the municipal election campaign period begins on March 25, more money will be in circulation since candidates will have to spend money on campaign materials.
