Raps are awaiting quarantine skipper, according to the DILG chairman.

Once she recovers, the woman who left her Makati City hotel quarantine unit to party and ultimately tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) will have to face cases filed by the government.

According to Secretary Eduardo Ano of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Gwyneth Anne Chua of Los Angeles, California, would be held accountable for violating state-mandated health regulations.

“Yes, kakasuhan natin ‘yon (we will file charges against her),” Ano told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) in a text message on Sunday.

Gen. Dionardo Carlos, the chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), also stated that he has tasked teams to examine the issue.

“I have instructed the DIDM (Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management), CIDG (Criminal Investigation and Detection Group), NCRPO (National Capital Region Police Office), and HS (Health Service) to investigate the case and file appropriate criminal charges against anyone who will be found violating,” Carlos said.

The PNP was also given the task of inspecting hotel amenities and keeping track of those who were quarantined.

In a radio interview on Sunday, NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said the NCRPO is prepared to offer additional security in hotels if necessary to avert a repeat of the incident at the Berjaya Makati Hotel in Barangay Poblacion.

“For the time being, there is no additional manpower available, but this will change depending on the scenario. If necessary, we can allocate our men (lalagyan natin ng tao) if needed “he stated

As the number of Covid-19 cases in the country continues to rise, Danao urged the public to be disciplined and follow the Covid-19 safety protocols.

“‘Ang key talaga sana magkaroon ng sariling disiplina tayo.’

Di natin kaya na bantayan lahat (The most important thing here is for people to be disciplined.) We won’t be able to protect everyone), “he stated

According to the Department of Tourism, Chua booked into Berjaya on December 22, went to a neighboring bar the next day, tested positive on December 27, and was “extracted” from the Makati Avenue hotel on December 29. (DOT).

The illness also infected some of her partygoers and bartenders, according to the DOT.

To prevent a repeat of the breach, the hotel said in a statement on Saturday that it is fully cooperating with the inquiry and will apply harsh punishment on “any employee proven errant by commission or omission.”
