MANILA, Philippines — The arrival of six Filipinos in the Republic of Moldova after their evacuation from Ukraine was verified by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Monday.

A fourth-year medical student at the Bukovinian State Medical University, two Filipinos married to Ukrainians (one of whom traveled with her two-year-old son), and two Filipinos working for an international organization who managed to cross the Moldovan border are among the evacuees, according to the DFA.

Honorary Consul Victor Gaina of the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Chisinau, Moldova, assisted them in their safe arrival, according to the statement, in collaboration with the Philippine Embassy in Budapest, Hungary, led by Ambassador Frank Cimafranca.

The DFA stated that “Consul Gaina also provided the requisite documentary procedures to get their e-Visas to enter the nation.”

According to the statement, the Philippine Embassy in Budapest and the Philippine Consulate in Chisinau are planning to convey four Filipinos to Romania, from where they would board their repatriation flight to Manila.

It recommended Filipinos living near the Moldovan and Romanian borders to seek assistance from the Philippine Embassy in Budapest and the Consulate in Moldova for evacuation and return to the Philippines.
