CITY OF COTABATO – On Thursday, the leadership of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) expressed gratitude for Senator Francis Tolentino’s efforts at the Senate plenary on behalf of the Bangsamoro people.

Tolentino is the “most trusted partner for peace” in the senate, according to BARMM Chief Minister Ahod “Murad” Ebrahim.

“Allow me to express my gratitude to Senator Tolentino for his efforts on behalf of our people. He has fought tirelessly for the Bangsamoro Transition Authority’s transition period to be extended “In a statement, Chief Minister Ebrahim stated.

On Wednesday afternoon, Tolentino paid a visit to the BARMM center in this city.

The senator made it clear that his visit was not only to reiterate his support to the regional government, but also to see the region’s growth and development.

The Senate Committee on Local Government is chaired by Tolentino.

“I’d like to join the team that will face the challenges that lie ahead in the next years,” Tolentino added.

“The transition period will be watched and closely examined,” the senator added, assuring his support for the parliamentary government.

“We will be there to guide you even after the election, even if we have a new administration,” Tolentino stressed, as he promised Ebrahim and other BARMM officials of the senate’s continued support.

Tolentino is remembered by BARMM officials as one of the few senators who campaigned for the passage of Republic Act 11593, which postponed BARMM’s first regular election until 2025, effectively extending the transition period.

“One of the key reasons why the Bangsamoro Organic Law was enacted into law was because of his tremendous leadership,” Ebrahim remarked.
