The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has released P8.35 million for workers in C. Luzon who have been affected by the epidemic.
PAMPANGA’S CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Department of Labor and Employment-Central Luzon (DOLE-3) announced on Thursday that PHP8.35 million has been given for cash assistance to 1,670 workers in regions designated as Alert Level 3 earlier this year.
Workers and individuals in the private sector whose jobs were affected by the issuance of Alert Level 3 are eligible for a one-time cash aid of PHP5,000 under the Covid-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) 3.
711 people from Bulacan, 587 from Pampanga, 180 from Zambales, 127 from Tarlac, 57 from Nueva Ecija, and eight from Bataan are among the region’s recipients.
Only 57 of the 1,670 recipients had yet to collect their financial aid as of March 1.
DOLE-3 Regional Director Geraldine Panlilio said the agency has received help requests from over 700 businesses in the region, totaling 15,000 workers.
“We anticipated this volume of applications and are aware of the needs of our Filipino brothers and sisters at this time.” This is why we did everything we could to speed up the payment process. In a social media post, Panlilio wrote, “We have processed and paid the first round of recipients.”
She assured the qualified recipients that their cash aid will be delivered on time.
Martinet School Inc. in Tarlac representative Mariles Ruiz praised the quick and painless processing of their application.
“To be honest, ang procedure ngayon is madali at mabilis compared to nung unang CAMP. Tuwang-tuwa sila sa nag-assist sa amin at na-approve ito agad (Compared to the first CAMP, the processing was faster and easier. They’re really pleased with the person who helped us, and it was authorized right away),” she continued.
Except for Nueva Ecija and Zambales, which are under Alert Level 2 until March 15, all provinces in Central Luzon are currently under the more liberal Alert Level 1 community quarantine status.
