ABRA, BANGUED – Residents here, dressed in red and green shirts, pledged their full support for the Uniteam presidential-vice presidential ticket of former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte on Wednesday.

“Dito sa Abra, kami sa Solid North” (We are Solid North here in Abra). In an interview, Barangay Cabuloan Chair Florencio Viado said, “Ninety-nine percent of the voters’ population here ay talagang sumusuporta sa Uniteam (truly supports UniTeam).”

If the BBM-Sara ticket wins the May elections, Viado believes the country may be “great again.”

“Kapag ang kandidato ay Ilocano, automatic ay supporta namin.” ‘Yung pwersa ng Mindanao at Norte ay solidong magtatayo ng buong Pilipinas,’ kaya sigurado kami na ‘yung pwersa ng Mindanao at Norte ay solidong magtatayo ng buong Pilipinas,’ kaya sigurado kami na ‘yung pwersa ng As a result, we are confident that the armies of Mindanao and the North would rally to our cause),” Viado stated.

Marcos is from the Philippines.

Nona Castillo, 60, was among those in the crowd, saying she had been waiting for the UniTeam since 6 a.m. Wednesday.

“Talagang mainit ang pagtanggap naming taga-Abra dahil sobrang mahal namin ang BBM-Sara,” Castillo explained.

UniTeam bets were also applauded by Castillo for not engaging in “negative marketing.”

“Kapag nangangampanya ay hindi sila nakikipag-away at hindi sila naninira sa kapwa nilang kandidato (When campaigning, they do not fight and insult their fellow candidates),” Castillo remarked.
