DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Mayor Sara Z. Duterte stated on Monday that the city had overcome a major setback in the fight against coronavirus sickness in 2019. (Covid-19).

Duterte said in her weekly interview on her official Facebook page that it is now okay for Dabawenyos to continue working and holding events as long as health regulations are followed.

“I believe we have passed the most dangerous stage of the Covid-19 pandemic, at least in my opinion.” “Let us continue to move forward in our lives here in Davao,” she remarked.

The mayor emphasized the need of wearing face masks at all times.

“Keep in mind that you can only remove your face masks while eating or drinking.” “That’s all you have to keep in mind,” she said.

Duterte also expressed gratitude to the Dabawenyos for their faith in the municipal government, particularly throughout the two-year handling of the city’s Covid-19 response.

“We appreciate your continued trust and collaboration with the local government. “I appreciate your demonstrating support for the local government’s efforts to fight Covid,” she stated.

She praised the city’s honest and industrious personnel for their contributions to keeping the city virus-free.

“We continue to pray for Covid-19 to be eradicated not only in our country but throughout the world,” she stated.

Dabawenyos should also acquire the Covid-19 vaccine, according to Duterte.

“We are requesting that you reconsider your vaccination position and conclusion. Please get your booster shots if you haven’t already,” she advised.
