MANILA, Philippines — The National Printing Office (NPO) in Quezon City has already produced over 49 million official ballots, or over 74% of the total, according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday.

“We have already printed 73.7 percent of the 13 areas, including the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).” Except for the National Capital Region (NCR), almost all are already 100 percent produced,” said Commissioner Marlon Casquejo, head of the poll body’s printing committee, at a news conference before a walk-through of the ballot printing in Quezon City.

Meanwhile, Casquejo reported printing 4,755,360 ballots for Central Luzon out of a total of 7,289,791 ballots.

NCR will receive a total of 7,322,361 ballots from the polling body.

He also mentioned that 60,000 manual ballots for local absentee voting (LAV) had already been completed.

The 79,800 manual ballots for the Office of Overseas Voting (OFOV) have been completed, as have the 145 manual ballots for the Philippine Embassy in Rabat, Morocco.

Meanwhile, 86,280 ballots have been printed for the 63 barangays in North Cotabato that are members of the BARMM.

In January, the election commission began producing official ballots.
