The Department of Education (DepEd) announced Wednesday that early registration for students in public schools for the School Year 2022-2023 will begin on Friday.

The agency said in a statement that registration for various entry-level learners, including those entering kindergarten, primary school (Grade 1), junior high school (Grade 7) and senior high school (Grade 11), will take place from March 25 to April 30.

The Department of Education also urged private schools to do early registration on the same dates as public schools.

According to DepEd Memorandum 17, Series of 2002, early registration for various learning modalities may be done face-to-face in locations with low Alert Level status.

“Early registration shall be conducted remotely in regions under Alert Levels 3 to 5 in the context of the current Covid-19 public health emergency.” In places under Alert Levels 1 to 2, in-person registration through parents or guardians may be permitted if physical separation and health and safety regulations are rigorously adhered to, according to the report.

Meanwhile, the Department of Education said that students in Grades 2 to 6, 8 to 10, and 12 are no longer need to participate in early registration because they are automatically pre-registered.
