MANILA, Philippines — A Philippine group is engaging with healthcare innovators in the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley as part of a roadshow in the United States this week, with the goal of attracting further investments in the field of biotechnology.

The BOI is holding a roadshow in Florida, San Francisco, and Los Angeles until Saturday to promote US-based entrepreneurs in the life sciences and healthcare space to opportunities in the Philippines as part of its Make It Happens in the Philippines campaign.

The delegation is led by DTI Undersecretary Rafaelita Aldaba.

InterVenn Biosciences, Presidio Medical, and Vator are among the notable startups that the delegation met during the roadshow.

InterVenn, which was founded by a Filipino, Aldo Carrascoso, is at the forefront of artificial intelligence-based pre-cancer screening (AI).

The company is growing its Philippine headquarters, which serves as a hub for InterVenn’s software, by hiring 100 software engineers from the Philippines.

“I’m very proud that InterVenn, a biotechnology business created by Filipino-Americans, is pioneering the latest innovation in pre-cancer screening and introducing the ‘Glycoverse,’ a whole new dimension of biology.” “They have opted to enhance their presence in the Philippines this year and build their AI team in the nation,” Aldaba said in a statement released Friday.

Kenneth Wu, the founder, and chief technology officer of Presidio Medical, also met with the delegation. Presidio Medical is an early-stage firm and developer of a neuromodulation platform, which provides patients with a new type of therapeutic medical equipment that allows them to be healed of disorders caused by abnormal neural activity.

They also met with Bambi Francisco Roizen, the CEO of Vator and the managing director of the Vator Health Fund.

Vator is a healthcare media and research organization, and Vator Health Fund is a public-private fund that invests in entrepreneurs who promote health fitness, and well-being.
