MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Depression Agaton, which pounded a significant area of the country last week, caused early damage to 11,279 residences in eight districts, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

Regions 5,6,7,8, 10, 11, 12, and the Caraga contain these areas.

There are 10,519 that are somewhat damaged and 760 that are completely ruined. Agriculture damage was assessed at PHP257,025,441 in Muslim Mindanao’s Regions 6, 8, 10, 12, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (BARMM).

Meanwhile, infrastructure damage in Regions 6, 7, 10, and the BARMM has been estimated at PHP6,950,000.

There are 600,062 families affected by “Agaton” in 2,427 barangays in Regions 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, Caraga, and the BARMM.

To present, 450 evacuation facilities have provided shelter to 29,978 families, with the remaining relying on the help of family and friends.

The NDRRMC has confirmed 18 deaths, six injuries, and seven missing people as a result of “Agaton’s” impact.

Reports of 160 dead, two injured, and 104 missing people are still being verified.
