Carlito Galvez Jr., the chief implementer of the National Task Force Against Covid-19 and the vaccination czar, said on Sunday that he had tested positive for Covid-19.

Despite always going out since the epidemic was proclaimed in March 2020, and President Rodrigo Duterte ordered him to oversee the country’s Covid-19 response, it is the first time he has contracted Covid-19.

He said he tested positive for Covid-19 following his weekly reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test on Sunday, according to a statement.

“I’m having minor symptoms but am still in good spirits.” My immediate family and I have all been properly vaccinated, including the booster dose. “We’re all isolated,” Galvez, who is also the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity, remarked.

He apologized to those he had touched within the previous five to seven days, advising them to be tested and monitor their health.

Despite his isolation, Galvez will continue to watch the peace process and immunization efforts. At the same time, he urged people to acquire Covid-19 vaccinations.

“I urge people who have not yet received the Covid-19 vaccine to do so as soon as feasible, and those who are eligible to receive their first and second booster doses.” Stay healthy and safe,” he said.

Galvez was sent in isolation in January after 15 members of his staff tested positive for Covid-19.

Despite a global shortage, he is principally responsible for getting approximately 200 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine into the country.

According to the Department of Health, nearly 68.6 million Filipinos have had full vaccination against Covid-19. Only 13.6 million people have received the booster shot so far.
