MANILA, Philippines — As part of its preparations for the upcoming government, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has constituted a transition committee.

MMDA Public Affairs Director Sharon Gentalian claimed the group has been meeting “nearly every week” in a Viber message to reporters on Tuesday.

She did say, however, that no information about the agency’s future leadership has been released yet.

Following the departure of Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr. to serve as the national campaign manager of President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., President Rodrigo Duterte selected lawyer Romando Artes as the new MMDA chair in March.

Following Marcos’ victory in the national elections in May, his team announced that Abalos had accepted the position of Secretary of the Interior and Local Government.
