On Sunday, a fire broke out in the Comelec office at the Palacio del Gobernador in Manila’s Intramuros neighborhood.

The building’s 7th level is where the fire originated, according to the Bureau of Fire and Protection’s (BFP) preliminary report, somewhere about 6:53 p.m.

According to the BFP, the second alarm was sounded by the fire at 7:02 p.m. by the Manila Fire District.

According to the Comelec security guard’s report, all employees and staff on duty “are safe and fully accounted for,” according to acting Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco.

“BFP has the situation under control, and the fire is contained. He informed the reporters, “We’ll report as soon as we’re on the scene and able to help with the assessment.

The Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office posted on Facebook that at 8:18 p.m. the fire was deemed to be “fire out.”
