Three Filipino cardinals attend the Vatican’s consistory of the Pope.
Three Filipino cardinals have arrived in Rome for a two-day extraordinary consistory that Pope Francis has summoned to begin on Monday.
A photo of Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, Cardinal Orlando Quevedo, the Emeritus Archbishop of Cotabato, and Cardinal Jose Advincula, the Manila Archbishop, outside the Paul VI Hall inside the Vatican, is posted on Facebook by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) News on August 29.
During a meeting that will end on August 30, it is anticipated that the Pope will name new cardinals.
The Pope will appoint 63 percent of the College of Cardinals at the occasion.
The college is a body comprising all cardinals of the Catholic Church from throughout the world who serve as the pontiff’s closest advisers and aids.
