OVP relocated to a single office for efficiency rather than elegance.

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) defended its decision to shift its Quezon City offices to a centralized one in Mandaluyong City on Tuesday, asserting that the change was made to increase efficiency rather than for luxury’s sake.

OVP spokesperson Reynold Munsayac said in a video that they have chosen to establish a single central office on the 11th floor of Robinsons Cybergate Plaza, Edsa corner, to streamline their services on Pioneer Street.

Dahil hindi na tumatagal ang pag-ikot ng dokumento, ‘yung mga magpapapirma hindi na kailangan bumiyahe, “Mas efficient din ho ‘yan. As a result, “yan po ay hindi luho,” mas hinangad po namin ‘yung efficiency (This is more efficient; the transfer of documents is now possible without the need to convey paperwork for the signatures as well). We want efficiency, not luxury, so this is not for that,” he remarked.

Munsayac added that the “incomplete information” was used to support attacks on their office.

The issue is that other people already have their conclusions without having finished their facts, he said. “Ang problema ho eh ‘yung iba nagkaroon agad ng conclusion nang wala naman kumpleto ang kanilang facts,” he said.

The OVP once had two independent offices at the Ben-Lor building on Quezon Avenue and the Quezon City Reception House (QCRH) in New Manila.

Contrary to certain circulating articles, he claimed, QCRH use is not gratuitous.

‘Yung nakaraang administrasyon, ang hindi po alam ng karamihan, dalawa po ang lokasyon ng office of the Vice President,’ (What most people are ignorant of is that during the previous administration, the OVP has two offices.) Noong pinuntahan po namin ‘yung lugar medyo masikip, siksikan ‘yung ibang empleyado, ‘yung iba ho, nagshe-share na lang ng lamesa When we went there, it wasn’t very roomy, the staff were crowded, and some people were even sharing tables, Munsayac remarked.

According to one of the articles, she “clearly finds the office of the vice president too small for her stature, starting with the office in Quezon City left by her predecessor, which she rejected for being unsuitable, thanks to Mayor Joy Belmonte, who allowed its use for free, insisting she gets her building, bigger, paid for by the Filipino people, and at her preferred location. Granted.”

Through their satellite offices in Dagupan, Cebu, Tacloban, Zamboanga, Davao, Surigao del Sur, and Bacolod, the OVP’s basic services, including medical and funeral help, can also be accessible.
