Dela Rosa expects the local uprising to end soon.
According to Senator Ronald Dela Rosa, the Philippines will be a better place to live if the government’s issues with the local insurgency continue to improve.
He solicited support from the populace during the Sustainable Livelihood Program distribution at SB Park in Quezon City, saying that ending the local insurgency would improve every Filipino’s quality of life.
“Bantayan po niyo ang inyong mga anak lalong-lalo na yung mga nag-aaral dahil grabe ang [New People’s Army (NPA)] recruitment nila [ngayon sa mga eskwelahan] (Let us defend our children especially those who are at schools because they have accelerated their). Kawawa ang mga natin’s children. Akala niyo, wala kung saan nagpunta. You were recruited by me when I was in school. Our offspring will be miserable. We won’t see them again, and we have no idea where they went. Then all of a sudden, we’ll learn that they were hired), “He told the locals.
Senator Christopher Lawrence Go and the lawmaker attended the occasion.
Through his Senate Bill No. 200, also known as the ELCAC Act, Dela Rosa is advocating for a bill to formally establish the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).
The former head of the Philippine National Police claimed to have seen a “glimmer of optimism” after the formation of NTF-ELCAC during a recent hearing of the Senate Committee on National Defense and Security, Peace, Unification, and Reconciliation.
“We asked, “What type of war is this? ” when we were still lieutenants, “Sabi nga namin nu’ng teniente pa kami. We are being left alone by the government to battle the NPA, according to the phrase “Tayo lang pinabayaan ng gobyerno makipag giyera, makipag patayan sa mga.” They are seated inside of their office, nagpapalamig lang sa opisina, in their chair. Just cooling off at the workplace, kami doon sa. We are there on the field; we are the ones who are present. We are the ones who struggle; we are the ones who are nahihirapan. Dela Rosa remarked, “We are the ones that ache and strive.
“Areas formerly thought to be communist strongholds are now thriving and taking pleasure in their tranquil neighborhoods. The NTF-successes ELCAC’s allowed for the resolution of several issues in economically and geographically marginalized areas, which significantly aided in neutralizing the CPP-NPA, he continued.
Under then-President Rodrigo Duterte’s Executive Order No. 70, the NTF-ELCAC was established in December 2018.
Through the seamless coordination of NTF-ELCAC member agencies, it has successfully delivered social services to former rebels.
