SEC-Bacolod plans to go fully digital in 2023.

In order to improve its services for the entire Negros Island next year, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)-Bacolod Extension Office is moving toward digitalization.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has ordered that all government offices be totally digital. The public’s lives are being made easier by the use of technology, namely the internet. During a news conference on Wednesday, Director II Annabelle Corral-Respall stated, “For quicker and more effective public service.”

Stock and non-stock corporations as well as partnerships that are registered in the Negros Occidental and Oriental have to be under the jurisdiction of the SEC-Bacolod Extension Office.

Monitoring, protecting investors, and enforcing and investigating are its three main responsibilities.

According to the data, there are 1,075 stock corporations, 824 non-stock corporations, and 207 partnerships in Negros Oriental compared to 8,224 registered stock corporations, 4,646 non-stock corporations, and 712 partnerships in Negros Occidental.

According to Corral-Respall, not all of their clients are headquartered in urban areas; they also serve indigenous peoples’ groups and farmers in remote places.

In particular, for individuals who have trouble receiving internet service, she continued, “There is still more to be done in popularizing online services and (to have) full acceptability.”

Beginning on February 1, 2023, all financial transactions will be completed online using the eSPAYSEC payment system utilizing debit and credit cards or electronic wallets, in keeping with the digitalization of services.

The ESPARC online registration system should be used for all requests to register companies, partnerships, and non-stock entities.

The website www.sec.gov.ph provides access to both of these services.

Additionally, email requests for documentation, monitoring, and revisions can be sent to sec.bcdextension@gmail.com or sec.bacolod2018@gmail.com.

As part of the preventative steps against Covid-19 and to further enhance the ease of doing business in the nation, client training, anti-investment scam seminars, and clarifying conferences can also be conducted online using Zoom.
