GCASH, a mobile wallet supported by Globe, has partnered with the delivery and transportation network Grab to provide customers and riders in the Philippines with improved payment options.

Users of the Grab app will be able to conduct straight cashless transactions thanks to the partnership.

Beginning the next month, GCash will be accepted as a means of payment on the Grab platform.

The new partnership will be beneficial for a number of Grab services, including GrabCar, GrabFood, GrabMart, GrabExpress, and others.

Users of both platforms will be exempt from transfer costs up to PHP50 ($0.92) for each transaction.

“With this cooperation, we once again realize our promise to make Filipinos’ lives better every day by providing a more practical, secure, and economical alternative for them to pay for their rides and food and grocery delivery,” said GCash President and CEO Martha Sazon.

In the past, GCash and Grab collaborated strategically to make it easier to transfer funds between GCash and GrabPay wallets.

“Grab Philippines is committed to enabling our stakeholders in a digital-first economy, and important to this is promoting a deeper and wider cashless adoption in the country,” said Grab Philippines country head Grace Vera Cruz.

“We are advancing our prospects of digital transformation as more Filipinos interact cashlessly.”

GHL Systems, a provider of payment services, and Grab Malaysia established cooperation last week in order to broaden the latter’s buy-now-pay-later program to include in-store retailers.
