New Clark City’s potential for Central Luzon development is being examined by BCDA.

In order to transform New Clark City into a smart, sustainable, and inclusive community that might contribute to rapid growth in Central Luzon, the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is attempting to maximize its potential.

This is based on the Build Better More program and the economic strategy of the Marcos government.

Aileen R. Zosa, president and CEO of the BCDA, stated on Tuesday that the organization’s new leadership fully supports the administration’s eight-point socioeconomic agenda as reflected in the Philippine Development Plan 2023โ€“2028 and its mission to advance economic and social transformation in the nation in order to create more jobs and lift more Filipinos out of poverty.

“New Clark City is BCDA’s response to achieving this objective. We intend to decongest Metro Manila through the construction of New Clark City, but we also hope to serve as a catalyst for growth in Central Luzon and other regions, according to a statement from Zosa.

The BCDA has a number of high-impact projects and programs planned for New Clark City to help achieve this goal, particularly in the areas of sustainable development, renewable energy, information and communication technology (ICT), estate management, transportation, tourism, and smart city technologies, among others.

New Clark City is expected to house roughly one million people once it is fully constructed and offer employment to about 600,000 Filipinos.

To hasten the development of New Clark City, Zosa emphasized the value of forging solid alliances with other government departments, the commercial sector, and international partners.

The BCDA is unable to complete the enormous task of New Clark City alone. To implement our plans and projects and make sure that Filipinos truly receive the world-class city they deserve, we need the assistance of our partners in the public and commercial sectors, the official said.

Delfin Lorenzana, the chairman of the BCDA, stressed the significance of collaboration in achieving sustainable development objectives.

“To integrate all of these regions, including Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Subic, and Bataan, is to use synergy. No, you lack competency (We are not competitors). Together, let’s work to develop these areas. This is Metro Manila’s logical growth. As a result, more developers should anticipate coming to Clark as well as other adjacent places, Lorenza said in his speech at the BCDA Fellowship for Central Luzon Media on Tuesday at the Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort.

By the end of 2022, private and public investors had pledged PHP95.51 billion to New Clark City, while actual investments had already reached PHP14.59 billion.
