DAR recipients in the town of Agusan Norte receive abaca stripping machines.
The Bonifacio Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (BARC), a group of 302 agrarian reform beneficiaries involved in abaca cultivation in Las Nieves town, Agusan del Norte, received four abaca stripping machines from the Department of Agrarian Reform in the Caraga Region (DAR-13).
In accordance with the DAR’s Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project, BARC received the abaca stripping equipment valued at PHP640,000 on Monday from DAR-13 Regional Director Merlita Capinpuyan.
The Las Nieves Municipal Information Officer, Michael Mandahinog, thanked DAR for releasing the equipment and assured BARC that the local government body, led by Mayor Karen Rosales, would support BARC in managing their programs effectively.
Luisito Lumantas, the chairperson of BARC, expressed confidence that the stripping equipment will help them better their abaca products and showed interest in more engagement with their LGU and DAR to strengthen their organization.
During the turnover, Capinpuyan, Rosales, and Vice Governor Enrico Corvera were present.
