A total of PHP1,182,905,000 has been given by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to the National Food Authority (NFA) for the provision of one-time rice aid to all eligible employees and workers of national government agencies.

The Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) and associated Notice of Cash Allocation (NCA) were approved by DBM Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman on April 12.

According to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive, Pangandaman said in a news release on Thursday, “we shall ensure the welfare of our government employees by giving them assistance for their household needs and, at the same time, boosting the production of our rice farmers.”

1,892,648 government employees, including those with Job Orders (JO) and Contracts of Service (COS), will benefit from the rice support.

The provision of one-time aid at a consistent quantity of 25 kilograms of rice to all qualified government workers and employees is permitted under Administrative Order No. 2, which was signed by President Marcos.

Beneficiaries who are still employed by government agencies or in the government service as of November 30, 2022, are eligible for the rice support.
