PBBM vows to prioritize development of agricultural lands 🌾🚜

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. emphasized the significance of investing in the country’s agricultural sector’s development, productivity, and modernization. In his speech delivered during the 36th Cordillera Day Commemoration, Marcos stressed the need to prioritize the development of agricultural land as it not only provides crops to farmers but also has a ripple effect on the entire nation.

Marcos expressed his relentless commitment to developing agricultural lands as President and Agriculture Secretary. He highlighted the importance of investing in infrastructure and improving market linkages for farmers, as these efforts would yield crops and create opportunities that positively impact the nation as a whole.

While unable to attend the ceremony due to bad weather, Marcos urged the people to continue supporting the government’s mission of providing a better and more productive life for all. He assured them his administration would persistently seek ways to enhance their quality of life.

President Marcos acknowledged the achievements and challenges faced by the Cordillerans over the years. He encouraged them to celebrate the solidarity, dynamism, and camaraderie within their community with pride and enthusiasm.

Expressing his gratitude for the overwhelming support received during the national elections, Marcos thanked the Cordillerans for their trust. He reassured them of his dedication to serving them with passion, strength, and purpose.

Highlighting the accomplishments of the Cordillerans, President Marcos called for continued support for government efforts in improving and uplifting their lives through various projects, including the laying down fiber optic cables to enhance communication and internet access.

He also emphasized the importance of supporting the programs of the Regional Development Council – Cordillera Administrative Region (RDC-CAR) that aim for inclusive development while preserving the region’s natural heritage.

President Marcos recognized the vast potential of the Cordilleras in terms of hydropower, irrigation, and agriculture and stressed the need to harness these resources for the benefit of all.

Apayao Governor and RDC-CAR Chair Elias Bulut Jr. conveyed that the President intended to attend the celebration but could not due to uncontrollable weather conditions. Bulut expressed confidence in the President’s support for the region’s aspirations for autonomy and revealed plans to seek an audience with him after the State of the Nation Address.

The Cordillerans commemorate their anniversary since the issuance of Executive Order 220 in 1987, which created the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR). πŸŒ„πŸŽ‰
