Despite another 4,575 new infections being reported on Thursday, the number of active coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in the country continues to fall.

The Department of Health (DOH) reported in its Covid-19 bulletin on Thursday that the active case count has dropped to 93,307 from 96,326 on Wednesday.

3,316 of the active cases are asymptomatic, 85,244 are mild, 2,991 are moderate, 1,444 are severe, and 312 are critical, according to the Department of Health.

Another 7,504 patients have recovered, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 3,479,485. Meanwhile, 94 more deaths raised the total death toll for Covid-19 to 54,783.

In the Philippines, 3,627,575 persons have been infected with Covid-19 since the pandemic began, with 95.9% of those infected recovering.

Based on the 36,407 people who were tested in February, the country’s positivity rate was estimated to be 15.1 percent.

On February 8, all laboratories were functioning, but five of them were unable to submit data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.

According to the DOH, these laboratories account for at least 0.8 percent of samples examined and 1.2 percent of positive persons in the last 14 days.

For Covid-19 patients, 39% of 3,900 intensive care unit (ICU) beds, 34% of 20,700 isolation beds, and 31% of 15,200 ward beds are occupied nationwide.

In Metro Manila, 31% of the 1,300 ICU beds, 28% of the 4,600 isolation beds, and 29% of the 4,200 ward beds are used.
