Antique SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA – Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri is campaigning for Bayanihan 3 to aid MSMEs and the tourism industry, which have been hit hard by the pandemic.

Zubiri, who visited Antique province on Friday, stated that if re-elected, he would introduce a measure to release the Bayanihan 3 in the range of PHP10 billion to PHP20 billion as cash to help enterprises restart.

“After the election, I’ll be looking for a source of funding for the Bayanihan 3,” he remarked in a press conference.

Zubiri also stated that he has discussed his proposal with Antique Lone District Rep. Loren Legarda, who is seeking re-election to the Senate in May 2022, so that the two of them can work together to see it through.

The fund is accessible through the Small Business Corp. (SBC), the Department of Trade and Industry’s microfinance arm, or the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP).

“MSMEs might get the money at no interest through the SBC or at a low rate through the LBP,” he explained.

To propose his key plans, Zubiri met with Antique Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao and other incumbent officials vying for election under the local alliance Legarda-Cadiao-Denosta (LCD).

He promised them that he will prioritize Antique in terms of essential infrastructure and other tourism support, citing the province’s tremendous untapped tourism potential.
