MANILA, Philippines — Manila Water has been named the 7th best firm in the Philippines for professionals to improve their careers for the second year in a row by LinkedIn.

“We are happy to have this affirmation from LinkedIn on the initiatives we run for our employees’ entire well-being, development, and career growth,” Jocot de Dios, president, and chief executive officer of Manila Water said in a press statement on Thursday.

“This is a tremendous award that the organization can be proud of,” he said, adding that being included on the list during the epidemic years made it even more significant.

“It demonstrates how the organization is completely committed to doing everything we can to assist our people to be healthy, safe, and productive throughout this unprecedented phase of their careers,” he added.

Despite the difficulties and challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic to people’s well-being and economic and company growth, Manila Water realized that the pandemic is also an unprecedented reality that everyone must face over an extended period of time, according to a company information sheet sent to LinkedIn.

Meanwhile, Manila Water Corporate Human Resources Group Director Janine Tan-Carreon said the business emphasized its people strategy on comprehensive employee well-being to help its staff overcome the impact of Covid-19. Employees can benefit from programs that focus on social, emotional, physical, psychological, career development, and financial support to help them cope with the ambiguity of their day-to-day work situations.

“From the beginning of the epidemic till now, there has been a lot of cross-team teamwork to deal with the uncertainties.” We evolved into a borderless organization, breaking down silos to get the work done for our employees’ well-being. In the midst of the pandemic, we all had a single north star to keep everyone safe, healthy, and productive.” Carreon continued.

Apart from operating in Metro Manila’s East Zone for nearly two decades, Manila Water has expanded its operations to include the world-famous beach destination Boracay Island, the gateway to the southern corridor of Laguna Province, the international business hub of Clark, the Queen City of the Southern Philippines Cebu Province, and further south in Davao, among others.

Through its business operations in Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Manila Water has entered the international water landscape.
