OPS and DFA collaborate to enhance government services
Under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) and the Department of Foreign Affairs Office of Public and Cultural Diplomacy (DFA-OPCD) have strived to work more closely together.
Press secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said she recently met with DFA-OPCD Assistant Secretary Eduardo Meez and DFA spokesman Ma. Teresita Daza at her office in Manila in a statement posted on her official Facebook page on Saturday.
“Public diplomacy and the kanilang mandate sa pagpapaigting ng foreign policies sa Pilipinas are ipinaliwanag sa atin ng DFA-OPCD. The DFA-OPCD outlined public diplomacy and its mandate to strengthen foreign policy in the Philippines. Nabigyan din tayo ng pagkakataon para pag-usapan ang epektibong pagtutulungan ng ating opisina, ang Office of the Press Secretary. We had the chance to talk about how well our office, the Office of the Press Secretary, and the DFA-PPCD work together, she added.
Any collaboration that aims to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of government, according to Cruz-Angeles, is welcome.
“We welcome planned partnerships with other government agencies to better the provision of public service,” she added. “Malugod nating tinatanggap ang mga imbitasyon ng pakikipagtulungan sa iba’t ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan.”
The Marcos administration has implemented a “One Messaging Policy” to combat false, misleading, and malicious information through close cooperation among executive branch agencies.
Cruz-Angeles also invites the leaders of government agencies or their representatives to regular Palace press conferences where they can respond to questions from the media about their plans and initiatives.
She also updates the public on state departments and offices under the executive branch’s operations, programs, and successes using the OPS and her official Facebook sites.
Marcos previously advised internet users to follow the OPS’s accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to keep up with announcements and country-wide plans made by his administration.
Cruz-Angeles stated that to make the Marcos administration “more responsive” to the concerns of the Filipino people, her office will develop a “more thorough” feedback mechanism.
