Marcos exhorts Filipinos to have faith in both God and one another.

As the nation observes the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. urged Filipino Catholics on Thursday to place their faith in God and in one another.

He urged the Catholic faithful in his message to draw motivation from the Blessed Mother’s altruistic and unselfish love for others.

He said, “Like Mary, may we likewise seek to renounce our egotistical tendencies and desire to generously give ourselves without seeking anything in return.” “In the end, the only things we can take with us into our eternal home are those we deeply cherish, not the things we can only touch in our hands,”

The President urged Catholics in the Philippines to reflect on their “cause for being” and look for their calling “in the spirit of unconditional obedience and lasting love.”

We shall eventually comprehend God’s will and the reason for the adventures we have only taken on faith, he continued, “no matter how uncertain the days ahead may still be.” “We humbly seek divine providence during times of both difficulty and triumph, especially as we overcome our limitations, weaknesses, and imperfections.”

Additionally, he exhorted the nation’s believers to put their trust in God and one another as the country advances.

“Let us put our faith in the Almighty and our trust in one another as we enable our shared experiences to shape our history and guide us in realizing the goals of our country. We will undoubtedly discover where to cling on and develop more courage at the junction of these things, he remarked.

As long as they keep working hard and seek guidance in their prayers, Marcos encouraged Filipino Catholics to look forward to the promises of “a brighter and more comfortable future.”

In observance of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, the Principal Patroness of the Philippines, December 8 is designated as a special non-working holiday by Republic Act 10966, which was signed by former president Rodrigo Duterte in 2017.

According to Proclamation 1236, December 8 is also designated as a unique non-working holiday.
