Eleven kids will get to spend Christmas with their separate foster parents after seeking shelter at the “Pagsapupo,” or center for the homeless.

According to Rebecca Lotilla, who oversees the Pagsapupo Center for the Antique Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), the children will be picked up by their foster parents beginning on Wednesday and continuing until January 2.

She explained that these families in the San Jose de Buenavista area had been donating their skills or offering the center other types of help and that they were friends of the Pagsapupo Center.

Children between the ages of 11 and 18 had attended a Christmas party at the center, according to Lotilla, where they received gifts from Pagsapupo friends and Antique Rep. Antonio Agapito Legarda.

The youngsters will then have the chance to spend the holiday with their foster parent’s thanks to the share a home program, she explained.

She continued by saying that foster parents attended training on how to involve the kids in housework while they are residing with them. Additionally, they were asked to work with the kids on remedial reading.

In an interview, a 14-year-old girl stated that she would be experiencing “sharing a home” for the second time.

She added that she had been taught that the holiday is a time for family bonding and that she had “enjoyed spending Christmas with my foster mom.”

She insisted that this was a first for her with members of her own family.

An 18-year-old woman claimed in a different interview that this would be her first Christmas with a foster home.

This will be her first Christmas with her foster parents, however, she spent previous Christmases with her family’s relatives. I simply don’t know how they plan to celebrate the event.
