By July of next year, a health facility with medical services costing PHP11.5 million is anticipated to be completely operational in this town.

The super health center, which was officially inaugurated on Thursday in Barangay Manat, was defined as a medium-sized polyclinic that is larger than a rural health center by Senator Christopher Lawrence Go.

“It is smaller than a hospital, though. I appreciate that the Department of Health (DOH) has selected this area as a strategic one “said he.

All fundamental healthcare requirements will be met by the facility, which will also offer specialized local healthcare services such as an outpatient department, laboratory, X-ray, ultrasound, birthing services, diagnostic, pharmacy, and emergency services, among others.

Construction on the local health support division will begin in January of next year, according to Divina Sonido, director of the DOH-Davao Region.

She predicted that it would be finished in June or July of the following year.

Sonido claimed that by enhancing existing provincial rural health centers, the establishment of the institution would relieve pressure on other healthcare facilities.

The DOH-funded project falls under the health facility enhancement program, but the town administration will be responsible for the other elements, including maintenance, operation, and staffing.

“Given that the Universal Health Care Act governs the services, they are free. All visitors to the health clinic will receive assistance because our medical services have no regard for political affiliations or frontiers “said Sonido.

Under the health facility enhancement initiative, four super health centers are anticipated to open in the province the following year.
