The 10th Philippines-United States Bilateral Strategic Dialogue (BSD), which will take place from January 19 to 20, is something that the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is looking forward to co-hosting with the Department of National Defense.

In a statement released on Thursday, the DFA stated that “both sides view the upcoming meeting as an important opportunity to progress discussions on concrete initiatives to achieve the objectives outlined in the Joint Vision for a 21st-century United States-Philippines Partnership adopted by both sides during the 9th BSD.”

The BSD is a yearly occasion that provides the major forum for the two nations to reaffirm their longstanding friendship and alliance, talk about current issues, and find new areas of cooperation at the working group and senior official levels.

As the two nations alternate hosting the conference, the 9th BSD took place in Washington, DC, in November 2021.

The DFA stated that the talks scheduled for the next week “will cover the whole range of our relations, including in the areas of defense, economic, people-to-people, and other related cross-cutting issues at the bilateral, regional, and global levels.”

According to the goals and priorities of the Marcos Administration in promoting peace and prosperity, the 10th BSD is anticipated to maintain the positive trajectory and momentum of the Philippine-American alliance and relationship.

A year of subsequent high-level meetings and visitation exchanges will come after it.
