With its newly refurbished Amoranto Sports Complex in Barangay Paligsahan, Quezon City hopes to stake its claim as the “Sports Capital of the Philippines.”

A 3,500-seat arena, an Olympic-size pool with 10 lanes, an open tennis court, and an indoor sports complex with courts for basketball, volleyball, badminton, billiards, table tennis, and darts are all featured in the complex.

They are prepared to welcome even international tournaments, according to Mayor Joy Belmonte.

“In addition to being renowned as the City of Stars, Quezon City will also be regarded as the nation’s sports capital. I want to encourage, support, and produce excellent athletes in our city, but we can’t produce winners without world-class facilities “In a statement on Friday, Belmonte stated.

A multilevel parking structure was also constructed to accommodate even large vehicles, such as buses.

To revive sports and maximize the abilities of the local athletes, the city government started the reconstruction in April of last year.

According to Belmonte, local athletes will be able to train and develop their skills there.

On a 5.8-acre plot of land, the Amoranto Sports Complex was built in 1960.

An eight-lane track and field oval, bleachers, a gymnasium, and a grandstand were the initial components of the facility.

The cycling competitions for the 2005 Southeast Asian Games were held at the complex’s velodrome.

As the host, local government unit for major television networks, the location of the Eastwood City Walk of Fame in Barangay Libis, QCis referred to as the “City of Stars.”

The Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, California is the model for its counterpart in QC, which honors those who made noteworthy achievements in the entertainment business with brass stars.
