After receiving a governance citation, Misamis Solon was more motivated to serve.

Sancho Fernando Oaminal, a representative for the 2nd district of Misamis Occidental, said on Tuesday that he will be inspired to remain steadfast in his commitment to serve as the nation faces various challenges during the pandemic recovery by being named one of the top performing congressmen during the second half of 2022.

Although I am grateful and honored to receive this honor, I am also aware that there is still much work to be done before we can achieve everything we have set out to do. We are thrilled to get this award as a consolation and an inspiration after all the work we put into serving our constituents, he added in a statement.

Oaminal received a 90 percent rating from data analytics company RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD), placing him seventh among the top performers in the House of Representatives.

The RPMD ranked all three Oaminals holding public office in Misamis Occidental among the top 10 “Top Performers” in local governance.

Henry Oaminal Jr., the mayor of Ozamiz City, was ranked ninth among city mayors with an 80 percent rating, while Henry Oaminal Sr., the governor of Misamis Occidental, came in sixth among the best-performing governors with an 85 percent rating.

In a separate statement, Governor Oaminal remarked, “My compliments as well to our fellow public servants—let us all continue to be competitive collaborators in nation-building.”

Additionally, Mayor Indy expressed his appreciation for the outcomes and underlined the need to continue to put in extra effort for the city.

“I am grateful to be among those acknowledged, and a positive rating in the early months of my first term is more than welcome. However, this should not overshadow the fact that much more work needs to be done in order to realize our objectives for Ozamiz. I promise to work even harder for this, and I also reassure the Ozamiznons of that,” Mayor Indy stated.

The results of RPMD’s independent, uncommissioned “Boses ng Bayan” nationwide performance rating survey corroborated their conclusion.

The top-rated officials ought to be commended for their “constituent service,” says Dr. Paul Martinez, who serves as the RPMD’s focal point.

10,000 respondents were chosen from the 65.75 million registered voters between the ages of 18 and 70. The sample has a 95 percent level of confidence and an error margin of plus or minus 1 percent.

Randomly selected respondents were allocated proportionally according to the number of registered voters in each location.

A research and analytics company called RPMD focuses on identifying and analyzing trends in local and national governance, particularly among public employees.
