Successful attendance at Davos demonstrated that PH is open for business.

The Philippines can be a top investment center, as President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. successfully demonstrated to the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.

Speaker of the House of Representatives Martin Romualdez stated in a statement on Saturday that the Philippine delegation “really impressed the Davos guests.”

“They showed the world how the Philippines, the President, his official family, the economic managers, along with the top businessmen and women, presented a united front. It made a big impression and wasn’t lost in Davos, according to Romualdez.

“We welcome everyone to learn why the Philippines would be the ideal place to invest. We are open for business, and we are here to listen.”

According to him, multinational corporations are already considering opening offices in the nation, including investing behemoths Morgan Stanley and BlackRock. This is owing to both the favorable investment environment and the skills of the Filipino labor force.

“The list is endless. The Philippines’ presence in Davos is very incredible. It is a standalone event,” he continued. It just goes to show that the Philippines, the star of this year, especially in this Davos conference, will undoubtedly show the world that we are not only open for business but also that the best workers in the world are here, led by President Marcos and the Filipinos.

The Leyte lawmaker also mentioned that there was a lot of interest in the Maharlika Investment Fund (MIF).

The law was written by Senator Mark Villar, a member of the delegation to Davos, and has already been adopted by the House.

During Tuesday’s Country Strategy Dialogue for the Philippines, the President gave the MIF a soft launch.

Participants at the WEF backed Marcos’ plan to establish the MIF for the Philippines since the fund would be used to diversify the nation’s financial holdings.

We must carefully tailor the design to the conditions in the Philippines. To ensure that na babagay para sa atin is the goal the legislators are currently attempting to achieve (that it will be suitable for us). So that’s the process we’re going through right now, Marcos remarked in a press conference on Friday before leaving Switzerland.
