The Bureau of Customs (BOC) issued a warning to the public on Monday about shady accounts using the names of its employees and executives.

“The accounts are spreading untrue information about the organization, its officials, and its staff. The Bureau issues a warning to all dishonest people and strongly disapproves of such invasions of privacy that harm innocent people, according to advice.

Following numerous allegations of phony accounts utilizing its employees’ names and images, a warning was issued.

The BOC is simultaneously attempting to bring legal action against those responsible for this illicit activity.

It stated that those who perpetrate identity theft may face prosecution for breaking either Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act.

The bureau also invited members of the public to contact them with any incidents involving the topic.
