The number of new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) reported daily across the nation climbed by 19% between March 15 and 19, according to Department of Health (DOH) data released on Monday.

From 140 infections from March 5 to 12 there was an increase to 167 infections each day.

63 verified deaths and 1,171 new cases were also reported by the DOH in the most recent week.

Around 4.08 million coronavirus illnesses and more than 66,272 fatalities have been reported in the nation thus far.

The number of serious and critical infections increased from 351 to 368 during the same period.

While only 272 of the 2,040 beds in the critical care unit (ICU) are being used, 2,853 of the 16,735 non-ICU beds are being used, or 17 percent.

As of March 12, 78,443,972 people, or 100.4% of the target population for the nation (78,100,578), have received a Covid-19 vaccination, including 82.16 percent of the 8,721,357 seniors.

Of of the population who has received all recommended vaccinations, 23,811,248 have received booster doses.
