Benguet Corporation (BC), a publicly traded miner, reported consolidated revenues of PHP4.03 billion in 2022, a 5% increase from PHP3.84 billion the year before.

The company claimed in a statement on Monday that sales of nickel, gold, and lime accounted for the majority of its revenues.

Operating income increased from PHP1.57 billion in 2021 to PHP1.66 billion in 2022 as it maintained a high performance.

Following taxes, net income was PHP1.33 billion, down from PHP1.42 billion in 2021 as non-cash revaluation adjustments fluctuated less, but it was still admirable given the current economic unpredictability brought on by the pandemic hangover.

According to the report, the upward trend was backed by rising metal prices and advantageous foreign currency conditions that persisted for the majority of the year.

The company’s nickel subsidiary, Benguetcorp Resources Management Corporation, received the Platinum Achievement Award for Surface Mining Operation Category at the 68th annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference on November 18. Another subsidiary, Irisan Lime Project (ILP), came in second place for Safest Mineral Processing – Calcining Plant Category Award.

According to Benguet Corporation, these honors are proof of its efforts in sustainability and dedication to becoming a responsible mining firm.
