Reasons for “VG” rating due to diligence and dedication: House leaders
The House leadership on Sunday expressed joy over the lower chamber’s “extremely good” net satisfaction rating in the Social Weather Stations survey conducted in December 2022. (SWS).
In a statement, House Speaker Romualdez commended his colleagues’ laborious efforts and dedication for the high satisfaction rating.
As the Speaker of the House, Romualdez said, “I’m proud of our members and their dedication to supporting pro-people legislation.”
He was also appreciative of the House members’ steadfast support and collaboration, which allowed him to advance policies that met the demands of the populace.
The survey’s net satisfaction ratings for the House, Senate, Supreme Court (SC), and President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.’s Cabinet were all “extremely good.”
The Senate earned a +68, the House received a +56, the SC received a +53, and the Cabinet received a +50.
Elpidio Barzaga, a representative for Cavite’s fourth congressional district, claimed that the good ranking the House obtained from SWS was due to both the leadership and the competency of the members.
Romualdez is “one of the most productive, diligent, and industrious leaders the lower house has ever seen,” according to Barzaga, who said that House members take their lead from him.
“We are all busy if our leaders are. We follow the lead of our cherished Speaker. We proceed at his speed. Because of its leaders, the House of Representatives has been quite successful in adopting laws and resolutions, according to Barzaga.
Before the start of the Lenten recess, the Lower House approved 23 of the 31 bills that the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council had ranked highest in importance.
Rep. Elizaldy Co of the Ako Bicol Party-List also attributed the high level of public satisfaction to Romualdez’s diligent efforts, which were returned by the other members.
There is no denying the fact that Speaker Romualdez is one of the busiest officials in both Congress and the executive branch. He has speaking engagements, important gatherings, economic roadshows, and other activities almost everywhere,” Co added.
The study was carried out from December 10 to December 14 of last year, which corresponds to the time when the House of Representatives approved the PHP5.268 trillion national budget for 2023.
The House passed 19 of President Marcos’ priority laws before 2022 came to an end, including the SIM (subscriber identity module) Registration Act and the motion to postpone the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections until October of this year.
