The number of new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) reported daily across the nation increased by 13% from April 3 to April 9, according to a Department of Health (DOH) report released on Monday.

Infections were reported at 278 per day by the agency, up from 246 between March 27 and April 2.

In total, 1,944 new cases and 30 documented deaths occurred in the most recent week.

The number of serious and critical infections increased from 347 to 378 during the same period.

Only 301 of the 2,038 intensive care unit (ICU) beds are being used, or 14.8% of the total; meanwhile, 2,699 of the 16,369 non-ICU beds are being used, or 16.5% of the total.

As of March 19, at least 78,443,972 people, or 100.4% of the target population for the nation (78,100,578), have received the Covid-19 vaccine, including 82.16 percent of 8,721,357 seniors.

Of of the population who has received all recommended vaccinations, 23,811,248 have received booster doses.

Around 4.08 million coronavirus illnesses and more than 66,390 fatalities have been reported in the nation thus far.
