Before June of this year, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) hopes to finish about 20 port projects.
According to DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista, the upkeep of 18 airports is also expected to be finished by June, or right before President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s second State of the Nation Address (SONA).
The MRT-7, which the agency expects to be finished by June 2025, and the extension of the LRT-1 from Baclaran to Sucat, which is expected to be finished by 2024, were also discussed by Bautista.
The various contract packages for the Metro Manila Subway and the North-South Commuter Railway, according to Bautista, are nearing completion.
Once it is operational, the Metro Manila subway, which runs from Valenzuela City to Pasay City and has 17 stops, is anticipated to carry approximately 519,000 passengers daily.
He stated that the organization is also considering building extra bicycle lanes.
He added, “And of course, projects in the road sector, which will involve building the gigantic bike lanes.
