Starting on Friday, a two-day job expo at Robinsons Place Bacolod will include at least 6,760 open positions.

The local government, through the Public Employment Services Office (PESO) and the Department of Labor and Employment, arranged the employment event, in which 55 companies took part.

“We’re holding a job fair and we’re inviting everyone. As of now, there are 6,760 open positions, according to Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez.

In Bacolod, fifty local businesses are also hiring, including Robinsons Land, San Miguel Brewery, BDO Unibank, Ace Hardware Philippines, Tanduay Distillers, Negros Grace Pharmacy, Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp., Riverside Medical Center Inc., Vallacar Transit Inc., and Scheirman Construction Consolidated Inc.

Also in need of staff are call centers like Iqor Bacolod Talisay, Panasiatic Solutions, and Transcom Worldwide Philippines Inc.

The city administration has sponsored two job fairs this year; the first was held in SM City Bacolod last month.

Jovelyn Canoy, manager of PESO, urged job searchers to take advantage of the chance to find employment, noting that by attending the job fair, they could choose from a variety of employers in one convenient place, saving time, money, and effort.

“Mayor Albee Benitez’s mandate for the PESO is to assist Bacolodnons in finding employment. One of the numerous ongoing recruitment events we have planned is the job fair, she continued.
