The city of Manila honors 18 outstanding village leaders

18 barangay chairpersons were honored by the city administration of Manila for their exceptional achievements in managing their respective areas during the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) pandemic.

At the flag-raising ceremony at the Kartilya ng Katipunan monument outside City Hall on Monday, Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan presented the 2021 Outstanding Punong Barangays Award to Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan.

His statement said that the 18 chiefs maintained the rigorous execution of health and safety standards in the face of Covid-19, thus aiding the municipal administration.

In these difficult circumstances, Domagoso believes that people have no one else to turn to except the government.

His message was to all public officials, whether elected or appointed, to keep their attention on their responsibilities. In other words, the provision of public services at all times.

Furthermore, he urged people to constantly keep their own safety in mind, since the municipal administration would not be able to do its duties on its own.

“Kaya kayo naririto na kapwa ko kawani ng pamahalaang lungsod, mag-iingat kayo, naririto na kapwa ko kawani ng pamahalaang lungsod, mag-iingat kayo.
