A memorandum of understanding that intends to improve the management of transportation infrastructure projects was signed by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

The MOU, which was signed on Tuesday at the Marriott Hotel in Pasay City, permits the linkage and integration of transportation projects with the DICT’s systems.

Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista stated in a news release on Wednesday that DICT’s “crucial assistance” will maintain the transportation infrastructure projects on schedule by utilizing digital technologies.

In addition to keeping us on schedule, digitalizing the implementation and construction of these projects will assure adherence to high standards of safety, comfort, dependability, and efficiency, according to Bautista.

The effort will make it easier for relevant systems and applications to be connected and integrated.

According to the MOU, the DICT will work with the DOTr to find and create both new and existing systems and applications in order to guarantee the effective delivery of public services through e-governance.

In order to expedite the delivery of government services and make them more accessible, effective, and transparent for citizens, e-governance uses technology to drive digitalization.

The signing of the MOU marks the beginning of a substantial relationship, which should contribute to raising the caliber of our transportation projects, according to Bautista.

The MOU was signed by several more governmental organizations.

The agencies will cooperate with the DICT to simplify the procedures under the terms of the agreement.
