Small Restaurant Owners Encouraged to Embrace Digital Platforms ποΈπ»
π±π² MANILA β In alignment with the government’s push for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to digitize their operations, food and grocery online platform Foodpanda has urged small restaurant owners to tap into the digital market.
In a statement on Wednesday, foodpanda Philippines Commercial Director Luis Antonio Yanga emphasized that partnering with e-commerce platforms would drive progress and revolutionize the online food delivery industry.
During the vendors’ summit “CRAVE: Creating Relationships and Advancing Vendor Experiences” held last July 11 in Mandaluyong City, foodpanda unveiled initiatives to enhance support for its partner vendors and promote the growth of small-sized businesses in the country, coinciding with MSME week.
“We believe businesses across industries, particularly small and medium enterprises, should learn how to adapt to survive. Thatβs where we can come in and help,” Yanga said.
One of foodpanda’s initiatives to support restaurants, especially new entrants, in reaching more customers is “pandapick,” which allows app users to discover dishes exclusively available on the platform. Merchants also gain access to benefits as PANDAPICK partners.
Beyond food delivery, foodpanda aims to cater to dine-in and pick-up experiences by offering exclusive discounts and deals and innovating operations through the use of QR (quick response) codes.
“Understanding each vendor’s top growth objectives and pain points is crucial. For those criteria, we will start to customize the benefits most relevant to them, including additional visibility on the app, marketing support, and tools to drive their growth,” Yanga said.
To assist partner vendors in accessing capital for expansions, foodpanda has collaborated with Security Bank Finance, providing merchants access to affordable loan products. Additionally, foodpanda joined hands with the Online Food Vendors Marketing Cooperative, offering interest in shared capital while expanding its network in the industry.
The company also partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to support the growth of MSMEs.
“We value the opportunity to work alongside DTI in supporting their dedicated efforts to advance the MSME sector β the backbone of our economy. You can count on our unwavering commitment to contribute to the growth and success of MSMEs as we help drive the nation forward,” Yanga said. π€π½οΈπ΅πΌππ΅ππͺπΌπ΄
